My First Impression

There are days when my heart breaks but beats at a normal rate. I have long known that I am a hypersensitive man in an insensitive world where there are people that send mixed messages depending on which side of the bed they wake up on.  I try to give everyone the benefit of any doubt even when my first experiences with them are less than auspicious. So many times I have been wrong in taking this stance and disappointed in the process.  My latest debacle I was complicit in and I do tend to push the envelope, but the other individual in this affair is inconsistent in their attitude on a day to day basis. I promise I won’t make this mistake again. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger and this affirms in my mind that no one gets my respect until they prove themselves first not the other way around.
I will stick with my first impressions because they are usually right and when people that are close to me tell me someone is inauthentic I am going to listen with ears wide open.  I have failed to take my own advice on too many occasions and this last episode will be my last I can promise myself that.

As we go through life, I think the majority of us are true optimists. I guess if we weren't, then that cloak of pessimism would become an anvil on our hearts & souls.

Giving people the benefit of the doubt is a great thing that I try to do. Even when there are times that you know the other person you are dealing with may be a 50/50 kinda person. You know the kind of person we all know. They may be in positions of an employer or even a distant family relation.

Maybe it's respect that I give to more than the majority of people that I deal with, because it feeds into my own level of self respect. For me, it's a 99% gain and only a 1% deficit. I think we all have to respect ourselves more than ever worry about how we reflect on others.

If you treat someone with respect and kindness, I believe it always comes back to you with a good aura of fortune. Karma rises like the tides. It's always changing and churning around us all.

First impressions are just the first strokes of a paintbrush by a grand master. It can be slightly askew when we first view it. But, then as the moments of that first impression fades into being a second and third one, the colors become clearer.

Sensitivity is not weakness, always remember that, JB....
